The European Institute of Oncology

The European Institute of Oncology (IEO often abbreviated) is a hospital and nursing home in Milan scientific nature that deals, as well as the treatment of cancer, scientific research designed to improve the diagnosis methods and treatment of each form of cancer, possessing in its interior several laboratories.

Founded in 1994 has the status of IRCCS (Institute of hospitalization and care of a scientific character). Among its founders Enrico Cuccia and Umberto Veronesi.

HOW TO REACH THE INSTITUTE

 

By car

From City Centre (Piazza Duomo-Missori):
southbound, take the C.so Porta Romana, continue for C.so di Porta Vigentina and then to Via Ripamonti.

A8 (Varese) – A9 (Como) – A4 (Torino) – A7 (Genoa):
feed the Ring Road West (towards Bologna), exit Val Tidone-Milano Vigentina and go straight to Milan center.

Motorway A4 (Venezia):
take the ring road east toward Bologna and then up the west towards Genova, exit Val Tidone-Milano Vigentina.

Motorway A1 (Bologna):
take the West ring road, exit Val Tidone-Milano Vigentina.

From Malpensa:
feed the Ring Road West (towards Bologna), exit Val Tidone-Milano Vigentina and go straight to Milan center.

From Linate: As for A4 (Venezia).

By public transport

From center (Piazza Duomo – Via Dogana):

Tram no. 24 Vigentino direction to the terminus, then bus n. 99 direction Noverasco or bus. 222 (extra urban line) for Pieve Emanuele.

From Central Station:
Metro Yellow Line MM3 to “Crocetta” station, tram no. 24 Vigentino direction to the terminus, then bus n. 99 direction Noverasco or bus. 222 (extra urban line) for Pieve Emanuele.

From Malpensa:
shuttle bus to Central Station, then follow directions above reported.
Or railway service “Malpensa Express”, then Metro Green Line MM2 (direction Abbiategrasso) stop “Abbiategrasso” and shuttle IEO.

From Linate:
Bus no. 73 to the center (Piazza Duomo – Via Mazzini), then follow directions above reported.
